Threatened Bird Sighted in Tanzania: A Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF)-supported team from Wildlife Conservation Society of Tanzania recently recorded repeated sightings of Critically Endangered Uluguru bush-shrikes (Malaconotus alius) in Tanzania’s Uluguru South Forest Reserve. Members of the survey team believe that the birds’ behavior suggests that they are breeding in this area previously thought to be located above their altitudinal limit within the Eastern Arc Mountains and Coastal Forests of Tanzania and Kenya region.
