Calling Nature’s Caretakers…

New Fund for Protected Areas in the Caucasus
CEPF has pledged $300,000 toward the start up of a Caucasus Protected Areas Fund, which will provide up to 50 percent of the basic annual operating costs of protected areas having the highest biodiversity. This region’s protected areas have the greatest biological diversity of any temperate forest region in the world yet they face a critical funding shortage.

WWF Develops Framework for Investment in the Caucasus
CEPF has entered into a partnership with the WWF Caucasus Programme to determine strategic opportunities for future CEPF investments to do the most good in the Caucasus biodiversity hotspot, which spans approximately 420,000 square kilometers across six countries between the Black and Caspian seas.
