PARTNERS
United Airlines

Our partnership with United Airlines is focused on supporting CI's biodiversity conservation efforts and raising consumer awareness about conservation issues.

  • In 2003, United Airlines and CI developed a public service announcement, featuring Harrison Ford, for use on United flights to educate its customers on biodiversity conservation and CI.

  • In December 2001, United coordinated with CI to airlift 1,200 turtles confiscated from a shipment destine for China's illegal food trade. The turtles, including 12 highly endangered species, were transported to sanctuaries in Florida.

  • United has designated CI as a beneficiary of its onboard coin-collection program resulting in support to CI's conservation efforts.

  • United collaborated with Starbucks Coffee Company in 2002, to raise awareness about CI's Conservation Coffee program by serving Shade Grown Mexico Coffee on its domestic flights.

  • United designated CI as a member organization of United's Charity Miles program, allowing frequent fliers to donate their miles to CI.

  • In 1998 and 1999, United helped supported two CI education programs, including the web-based "Eco-Adventure" program for students, and the "Rainforest in a Box" project for young children.
