Our Partnership with Gap Inc is focused on supporting CI's biodiversity conservation efforts.
- Gap Inc. and CI teamed up about 17 years ago making Gap one of CI's first corporate partners. The partnership was founded on the idea that on the idea that two environmentally-minded organization could work together to produce environmentally safe products while creating opportunities for developing countries.
In a unique effort to achieve these goals, they gathered the fruit of the Tagua Palm Trees from Ecuador’s forest and made buttons. The project was one of the first to demonstrate that an alliance between non-profit organizations and rural communities can slow the spread of deforestation in areas rich with biological diversity.
