SONAL PANDYA-DALAL Senior Manager, Corporate Climate Leadership Based in San Francisco, CA Education: Drew University: B.A., Biology University of Maryland: M.S., Conservation Biology and Sustainable Development Senior Fellow, UCLA’s Tropical Forest Research Institute Sonal Pandya-Dalal advises companies on designing and implementing a sustainability and environmental vision that includes reduction in the greenhouse gases that cause climate change, adoption of aggressive energy efficiency options, best practices for purchasing, investment in high-quality green power and investment in multiple-benefit forest carbon offsets. Sonal also helped to build CI’s Forest Carbon program, working to design and develop a portfolio of multiple benefit projects that offset emissions of carbon dioxide through the restoration and protection of threatened forest ecosystems of high biodiversity value, and promote human well-being through employment and alternative incomes. Ms. Pandya-Dalal serves as a subject matter expert and advisory board member for several key groups, including the Climate, Community and Biodiversity Alliance, the GHG Protocol Initiative and California Climate Registry. Previously, Sonal worked with The Nature Conservancy, negotiating with policymakers in the United States and European Union to promote equitable climate policies. She is fluent in Spanish and Gujarati, an Indian dialect. |
