Laura recently joined Conservation International's Center for Environmental Leadership in Business (CELB) in January 2008 as the Executive Administrative Assistant to the VP of Conservation Investments. She supports the Conservation Investments team providing administrative, operations and creative support.

Before working with CI, Laura lived in Lima, Peru for 8 months volunteering with Amnesty International and their worldwide Arms Control Campaign. She also taught English to a variety of people at a language institute and worked with local social advocacy groups, including Un Techo Para Mi País (“A Roof for My Country”), a student founded movement across Latin America that works with marginalized families constructing emergency houses and offering social development programs, i.e. education, micro-credit, job training and community development. Laura’s passions for social and environmental well-being brought her to CI.

Before her time in Peru, Laura also taught high school math and English for a short time in Northern Virginia. In college, she spent time working with The Peacework Foundation, an international non-profit dedicated to humanitarian needs, volunteerism, and expanding global understanding, and personal awareness of the world's cultures and people. She also spent a summer working for the National Legal Aid & Defender Association, the nation's leading advocate for front-line attorneys and other equal justice professionals.

Laura was born in Germany. She also lived in Kenya for four years, where her parents worked with the State Department. She also lived in Switzerland. She recently started a Masters of Liberal Studies in Human Values at Georgetown. Laura speaks Spanish, some Italian and some Kiswahili. She’s loves traveling, hiking, swimming, surfing, playing tennis and skiing.
